What is your basic skin care regime? What can someone use daily to improve their facial complexion? I don't wear make up, and usually just wash my face and lotion. However, now that I'm getting older, I'd like to take better care of my facial complexion. What do all of you use for your daily skin care regime? Please provide step by step instructions. I've read that a cleaner, moisturizer, toner, etc are needed. Anything else? What order do you apply these things and what brand do you use? Thanks.

"We take too many showers at too hot a temperature in the winter months," says Russell. "Most people, especially the elderly, in winter should bathe once a week. You can wash where you need to for personal hygiene at a sink. And take a bath rather than a shower because a bath allows the skin to hold on to more water."
Toombs agrees. "Use soap only in areas where you perspire," she says. "When you shower, use warm, not hot, water, and do not use a washcloth because it may be too abrasive."
"For dry, chapped hands with cracked cuticles, I recommend an old standby, Corn Huskers Lotion," says Claire McArdle, RN, president of Beauty Therapies in Brookline, Mass. "It's very soothing and easily absorbed into the skin. I've used it for years on my clients, and I've never found anything better."
Moisturizing after a bath or shower is also important.
"When drying after bath or shower, pat dry -- don't rub," says Toombs. "Rubbing will remove the skin cells and oils you've just applied. Immediately after patting dry, apply a quality cream- or ointment-based moisturizer.""

I use the nutrimin c re9 regime. I have had amazing results.
I use a hydrating wash, spray on toner, a lift, serum and eye cream, and spf cream.
At night I do the same and omit the lift and add a night cream. My face/skin has never been better.
Feel free to e-mail me with any questions."
naughtywitchgurl replied: "1st - wash your face with a good cleanser, I prefer organic-based products, being that their free of harmful chemicals, and alcohol.) Make sure while washing to do your hands in upward circles. You always want to make sure you do it this way being that tugging down on your skin can damage and wrinkle your face.
2nd - Apply a toner. There are 2 application types. One is a spray that you mist your face with, the other you apply with a cotton ball. Let this soak into your face,
3rd - If using an eyecream apply in a patting motion around the eye. Be sure not to tug harshly this is the most delicate area of skin on the body.
4th - While the toner is still dewy (the above the same) Put a dime size amount of moisturizer on the upper part of fingers (from the middle knuckle to the tips) run your hands together making sure to only get the fingers then apply to face in the same circular motions as with washing. I don't completely rub mine in, I leave it slightly and let my skin naturally absorb it. Don't forget to do the same with your neck (but use swipping downward motions here)
Hope this helps you!"

Recommended is the M.R.P. approach for total skin wellness:
M = Maintenance:
*Cleanser
*Tonic
*Scrub
*Moisturizer
R = Repair:
Exfoliant
*Microderm Abrasion
*Chemical Peel
*Regeneration products - all are broken out in the different skin ages as well.
P = Prevention:
Sunscreen with broad spectrum protection of spf 20 or more.
* Cell Block-C a.m. has spf 20 and also contains vitamin c, an antioxidant.
*Eye cream/moisturizer
As far as order of application this is what is recommended, and it is also what I follow:
morning---
cleanser
tonic/toner
(regeneration product)
prevention product (cell block-c)
moisturizer
Eye moisturizer
evening---
cleanser
tonic
scrub (2-3 times per week), regeneration product (days I don't use the others), microderm (once per week) and/or chemical peel (once a week)
moisturizer
Eye moisturizer
Hope that helps!
I could send a free sample of the maintenance. My ID# is 1088402, if you care to shop with me. Otherwise, feel free to browse products.

This is very basic. The type of product you use will depend on your skin type and age. Cleanser, toner & Moisturizer should be customized for your skin type. If you have problematic skin, then products should be adjusted.
If you are over 35 you should be using an anti-aging line.
Eye Gel should be changed to an creme, 15SPF day time moisturizer is a must. Night Time moisturizer need to be a night repairing complex. Products should contain peptides.
In my way over 50 years of living I have tried many different product lines, from drugstore products, to department store cosmetic counter products, to home show products, to boutique products. 7 years ago, I found Aloette. I have never been more impressed with a skin care line. A few years ago the Platinum anti-aging line was introduce, and it is awesome. Products do not just sit on the cuticle of your skin. They actually work their way down through every skin cell layer you have to treat, nourish, moisturize all of you skin cells. That makes such an enormous difference in the look, feel & health of your skin.

What should be my daily skin care regime? I am 21 years old and barely use make-up; however; I want to start taking care of my skin. What products and in what order should I be using if my skin is combined? I tend to have acne around my forehead and chin but lately I have been developing them close to the jawbones and the neck.
Devon replied: "Practicing a skin care regimen is one of the best ways to keep your skin looking its best. If you get in the habit of practicing your skin care regimen daily, you will get the best results and avoid skin problems like acne or dryness. A basic skin care regimen involves cleansing, exfoliating and moisturizing.
Skin Care Regimen Step 1: Cleansing
The first step in your skin care regimen is making sure your skin is clean. Using a good face cleanser will allow pores to breath by ridding the skins surface of excess dirt and oil. Having clean skin will also allow you to apply makeup more smoothly when you wear it.
Skin Care Regimen Step 2: Exfoliating
Skin rebuilds itself by adding new layers of cells and shedding old ones. Sometimes the older skin cells can create a dry look on the surface and clog pores. Exfoliating is one step in your skin care regimen that does not need to be done every day in order to achieve good results. If you suffer from dry or sensitive skin, you should exfoliate only two to three times a week. Use a gentle face exfoliator to help remove dead skin cells.
Skin Care Regimen Step 3: Moisturize
Poor diet, the environment and your genes can all affect how much moisture your skin has at any given time. Keeping your skin hydrated is important in maintaining its appearance and health, and is a crucial step in your daily skin care regimen. Signs of premature aging like fine lines and wrinkles are signs that your skin is not getting enough moisture. Determine your skins needs, and then invest in a good moisturizer to use at night and during the day."
Is my daily skin care regime good? I have VERY oily skin in the summer, and VERY dry skin in the winter. My skin used to be acne-prone but not that much anymore. I use a mary-kay facial cleanser (velocity facial cleanser), a rosewater toner, and olay fluids as my moisturizer (i forget the exact name of the product). It seems to be doing good work for my skin, but maybe there's something I should know about the products? And I use exfoliating masks twice a week too, should I continue that as well?
Girl In the South replied: "I would just recommend losing the toner in the winter when your skin is dry. And make sure your moisturizer has an spf."
ConverseBa3B33 replied: "You Should Use Cream Cleanser In The Winter For Dry Skin.
Use Exfoliating Scrubs Or Masks Twice A Week To Remove Dead Skin Cells, They Could Clog You Pores.
And Exfoliating Makes The Skin Much Brighter."
What is your daily skin care regime? I just started using the Clean & Clear advantage acne kit today.
What product do you use? Does it work for you?
danaannellison replied: "I use the Olay gentle cream cleanser every morning then Avon ultimate daily moisturizer with SPF under my makeup. In the evening, I remove my eye makeup with Almay eye makeup remover pads, then cleanse with Neutrogena Deep Cleansing gel cleanser. It smells like lavender and is just a very pleasing scent to unwind with before bedtime. Then I use Avon ultimate nightly vitamin serum before bed. I do a weekly mask in the shower that's heat activated. It is called Steam and I think it's made by Clean and Clear. It works for me and I just love taking care of my skin. You only get one face!"

Lovespell replied: "Every skin is different, so, it all depends on your skin type. My skin tends to get dry & oily in the t-zone. It's a little sensitive, but not prone to breakouts.
Wash - Dove cucumber soap bar
Lotion[s] - Estee lauder claifying lotion, & Clinique Dramatically different lotion
With make up -
Foundation - Mousse Foundation from Maybelline or Clinique Power
Eyeliner - Estee Lauder or Maybelline
Eyeshadows - Estee Lauder
When I use those products, it works good. I don't break out, and it works on sensitive skin. Nothing clogs my pores, either! Clean & Clear makes GREAT products. I use to use their bacterial face wash."
BlueValentine replied: "I am 27 years old and I LOVE my skin and my products. My mom is 53 and looks 30 so the genes are good but I think it's that she raised me to use a moisturizer like she did, always.
I have acne prone skin and until I started this regime hated my skin and my face. I'd tried all drug store stuff and proactive and nothng helped. Now I am super confident and love my skin. I get compliments daily (I started this 5 years ago) on how flawless my skin looks. I love it.
I started when I was about 22 with Clinique's foaming acne facial wash (can't live without it)
the level 3 toner and the oil free moisturizer.
Once my acne was under conrol (about a month later though noticably different almost immediately) my skin started to get dry so I switched to the regular moisturizer and cut out the toner all together.
I used to be paranoid about putting stuff on my face but now I'm crazy about clear hydrated skin. I use the following morning and night:
Clinique foaming acne cleanser
Clinique dramatically different moisturizer
Annemarie Borlind LL eye cream
Annemarie Borlind Ceramide fluid
Clinique toner level 1 only when I have a blemish (usually around my period)
Its not cheap stuff but soooooo worth the difference I see everyday. I'm a rough and tumble cat and at 27 not a wrinkle."

skin care regime??? i dunno what type of skin i have because sometimes its dry and sometimes when am just too lazy to wash it, it becomes kinda oily...so is that called the combination type?...well i dunno but atleast now you have an idea of my skin type right?...i'd like to know what's the BEST skin care routine for such a type of skin?...and yeah i do have acne too...and is neutrogena a good brand for my skin type?...if so what're the specific products i should use for my skin twice daily and also some good products for getting rid of acne along with the daily skin care routine...thank you.
Simply Samantha. replied: "Lately, I have been using a Biore cleanser
every morning, after school, then before bed.
I heard that ProActive is also very effective.
I just think it is important to wash your face to
get rid of the dirt and oil that it aquires during
the day.
Good luck (: (:"
everythingintime23 replied: "I have the same type of skin. The dry/oily combo. What REALLY worked for me was just totally drying my face out at night.
I would wash my face with regular soap (and the soap would dry out my skin) but when my skin was dry the acne would go away. Now obvioulsy you wouldn't wanna have a dry flaking face so in the morning do the same thing but moisturize before you go out. When you get home., dry it out again. Sounds bad but for me - when my face was dry - it was also acne free."
So*Cal Blinkbaby replied: "I use Biore "Ice Cleanser". I used to use Neutrogena, and Phisoderm, Clearasil.. Nothing was really doing the job. But, i've been using the Ice Cleanser for about 2 and a half years... Once a day, maybe twice. You get clear skin, it doesnt get oily at all, you feel the face wash getting cold when its on your face for about 15 seconds... you feel dirt and oil coming out of your skin, it feels so cleansed... Try it. It works really good. Give it like, 12 days, twice a day washing your face... It will show a differenence.

Moin T replied: "This is a family secret. This really works. You take a old rag that u dont care about. U take a whole nasty glob of fresh poop (prefered if the poop is yours) and lay it on ur face. Leave it overnight. This will really work!!!!"
Is this a Good Skin Care Regime for Someone My age? I am 23 year old female. I finally have good skin. I want to keep my skin looking great
Morning: Noxema wash. Aveeno luminous daily moisturizer with SPF 15.
Night: Noxema wash.
Burt's Bees eye cream
Then, I alternate nightly between pure vitamin E oil, Burt's Bees Night cream, and pre ion Retin-A gel.
Katherine replied: "what you have now is pretty good"
Lauren replied: "Yes, this is a great skin care routine. Make sure to stay out of the sun, to avoid looking wrinkled and older! Tip: To brighten your face get white shimmer eyeshadow and lightly dust it on the cheekbones! Really works and will compliment the fact that your skin is improved and you are taking better care of it! Hope I helped!"
kenny replied: "It sounds great for now....but also, your skin care needs will change as you go through different stages of your life. They continually come up with new products as well, so you need to stay informed on the latest and greatest technology! I personally have found that while you do need to keep your skin moisturized, it is also very important to watch what you put IN your body. It feeds and nourishes the skin from the inside out and is more beneficial than topical creams. Eat foods that induce hyaluronic acid. Look it up. Drink water everyday. I know they say 8 glasses, alot of ppl cant do that much, but try and drink at least 3 or 4 glasses. It really does help. Also, try home made facial masks once in a while. Avacado is good for your skin when used topically or when eaten. The same with cucumber, it has calming effects on the skin and hydrates your body when eaten. Cantelope, leafy greens, etc...
Sun, smoking, alcohol are no-no's if you are really concerned about your skin!"
Jacqueline replied: "Yeah its not bad at all. also a tip: I had a lot worse skin than i have now. but after i went on the pill i rarely get pimples etc. so maybe that's an idea."
wwe-suspensions.com replied: "Yes this is a great regime, here are some other things you can do to enhance what your already.
Stay hydrated, and drink plenty of water! That doesn't mean soda, caffeine or any other type of liquid even if it is low cal.
Soda (even diet soda) has a high concentration of sodium.
Sodium retains fluids. You need fluid that will hydrate and flush your body free of toxins. Make sure you are drinking at least 8 glasses a day!"
Jonathan replied: "Bio Skin Care : Top 5 Amazing Ingredients In Best Herbal Skin Care That Shall ...
http://www.howtocareskin.com/
The shocking truth is that a majority of the skin care products available in the market are made up of harmful chemicals and synthetic fillers. This is exactly the reason why more and more people are resorting to herbal skin care to achieve a healthy and vibrant skin without the risks of any side effects.
Unfortunately, many big brand companies also are taking an unfair advantage of this "organic" or "herbal skin care" boom. They label their products as herbal, while in reality they are not hundred percent natural. So, watch out for such malpractices so that you get the best herbal skin care product for the price that you pay.
Here are five amazing natural ingredients that you must watch out for while looking for an appropriate herbal treatment for the skin --
http://www.leonsantiagingbeautysecrets.com
1) Phytessence Wakame -- it is one of the best kept Japanese skin care beauty secrets. It is an extract of a special Japanese sea kelp. It is also consumed as a food in Japanese diets. It is one of the top reasons why Japanese women have beautiful, wrinkle free skin complexion.
It is rich in minerals, vitamins, antioxidants and calcium (its calcium content is 15 times greater than milk). It significantly improves the skin moisture retention and elasticity. It gives a creamy, soft and smooth skin complexion.
Phytessence Wakame inhibits the deadly enzyme hyaluronidase from destroying the essential hyaluronic acid in our body. It is vital for our skin's wellness, smoothness and elasticity.
2) Active Manuka honey -- honey is well known for its antibacterial, anti aging and healing properties. Active Manuka honey has active enzymes that make it very effective in curing skin problems such as blemishes, wrinkles and fine lines naturally. It rejuvenates skin cells and gives it a new life and vitality.
3) Babassu -- it is one of the best moisturizing oils. It is derived from the kernel of the Babassu fruit found in the Amazon in Brazil. It creates an invisible layer of protection on your skin that locks in the essential skin moisture and keeps the dirt and grime out. It works amazingly well for both oily and dry skin complexion. It soothes skin inflammation and irritation very quickly and deeply.
4) Avocado oil -- it has a composition similar to the sebum (natural oils) present in our skin. So, it is most readily absorbed in the skin and performs deep skin moisturization. It also stimulates the production of collagen, which is a vital youth giving protein in our skin. It nourishes the skin without leaving any sticky, buttery or oily feeling behind.
5) Maracuja oil -- it is a natural emollient and its structure is very similar to the sebum found in our skin. It is rich in linoleic acid, which is an essential fatty acid. It makes our skin soft, smooth and naturally radiant.
Look out for these wonderful natural ingredients while you seek the best herbal treatment for the skin for yourself. Their marvelous effects on skin rejuvenation enhance significantly when they are combined in scientifically proven quantities in herbal skin care formulations.
Visit my website to find out more of such amazing natural ingredients that you should look out for in the best herbal skin care so that you can achieve a beautiful, young and naturally glowing skin effortlessly.
